Jaya signs register to keep her Assembly membership alive
Chennai, Jan 23 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the Tamil Nadu Assembly and AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa, who had been avoiding attending the sessions, today came to the Assembly lobby and signed the register to keep her membership alive.
Ms Jayalalithaa came to the Assembly around 0930 hrs, half an hour before Governor S S Barnala was scheduled to deliver his customary address the AIADMK supremo signed the Register in the lobby and left the House.
Later, the AIADMK, led by Deputy Leader of the Opposition O Panneerselvam, boycotted his address demanding dismissal of the DMK government for its alleged support to the LTTE.
After reading a prepared text before the Governor rose to commence his address, Mr Panneerselvam led by party members finally walked out of the House.
