Uttara Swami Malai Temple, popularly known as Malai Mandir ("Hill Temple" in Tamil), is a Hindu temple complex in New Delhi, located on Palam Marg. Dedicated to Lord Swaminatha (Lord Murugan), it holds great significance for Tamil and other South Indian Hindu communities. The temple is easily accessible, with Vasant Vihar metro station about 2 km away.
8 Sep 1965: Foundation stone laid by M. Bhakthavatsalam, presided over by PM Sri Lal Bahadur Shastri.
7 June 1973: Sree Swaminatha Swami Temple consecrated; Mahakumbhabhishekham performed.
13 June 1990: Temples for Sree Karpaga Vinayakar, Sree Sundareswarar, and Devi Meenakshi consecrated; Mahakumbhabhishekhams performed. Jeeranoddharana Kumbhabhishekham for Lord Swaminatha temple also held.
7 July 1995: Navagraha temple and Idumban Swami temple consecrated; Kumbhabhishekham performed.
9 Nov 1997: Adi Sankara Hall inaugurated.
27 June 2001: Third Punaruddharana, Ashtabandhana, and Swarna-Rajatha Bandhana Mahakumbhabhishekham performed by H.H. Sri Jayendra Saraswati Swamigal, with H.H. Sri Vijayendra Saraswati Swamigal participating in the yagna pooja on 25 June 2001.
