Sri Ujjaini Mahakali Temple, located in Secunderabad,Telangana, was established in 1815. Devotees visit the temple daily to offer prayers to the goddess, with particularly large crowds gathering during the Ashada Jathara, which typically occurs on a Sunday and Monday. The temple is also a significant center of devotion during the Bonalu festival.
The origin of the temple traces back to a cholera outbreak in 1813 that claimed numerous lives. During this time, a doli bearer named Suriti Appaiah prayed at the Mahakali Devastanam in Ujjain, vowing to install the goddess's idol if the epidemic ceased. In July 1814, he fulfilled his vow by installing a wooden idol of the deity in Secunderabad.
