The Thiruvangad Sree Rama Swamy Temple is located in the eastern part of Thalassery. It is known as the Brass Pagoda due to the copper sheeting on its roof. The temple was partially damaged by Tipu Sultan's troops in the 18th century but was saved from complete destruction. It served as an outpost of the Thalassery fort and hosted conferences between East India Company officials and local leaders, where political treaties were signed.
