The Shree Swaminarayan Mandir in Kalupur, Ahmedabad, is the first temple of the Swaminarayan Sampraday. It was built on the instructions of Swaminarayan, the sect's founder. The temple's construction began after a British official, Eron Saheb, promised Swaminarayan land in 1817. The temple was inaugurated on 24 February 1822.
