Sri Venkatesa Perumal Temple, also known as Melathiruppathi, is a noted Vishnu temple in Kongunadu. The deity's image was discovered around 300 years ago by Kondamanaicker. He saw his cow shedding milk on a sandhill and found the image with Conch and Disc. Inspired, he built the temple.
