The Siddhivinayak Mahaganapati Temple in Titwala has a rich history. It was originally built by Shakuntala, following a legendary background. The temple was submerged under a tank and rediscovered during the Peshwa Madhavrao I's rule. The image of Ganesha was found buried in silt, leading to the temple's renovation. A stone temple was built, and the ancient Ganesha image was consecrated after the conquest of Vasai fort. The temple underwent further renovations in 1965-66, resulting in the current structure.
