The Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Mumbai is the oldest Swaminarayan temple in the city. It was established on Vaishakh Shukla Ekadashi in 1868 by Ranchhoddas Pranjeevandas. He built it by reconstructing his own residence. The deities were installed by Acharya Maharaj Bhagwatprasadji Maharaj.
The current tri-spire structure was completed on Vaishakh Shukla Dwadashi in 1903. Acharya Maharaj Lakshmiprasadji Maharaj installed the deities of Ghanshyam Maharaj and Lakshminarayan Dev. Devotee Rao Bahadur Sheth Curumsey Damjee played a key role in this temple's development.
