Desiring a larger idol, he was divinely guided to the Vaigai River, where he discovered a self-manifested Krishna idol, which he installed as the presiding deity. During the 18th century, King Thirumalai Naicker, a devout follower, reportedly witnessed a divine light from the temple during an evening walk. Interpreting this as a divine sign, he generously contributed to the temple's expansion and development. His successor, Rani Mangammal, also visited the temple, offering a pearl lotus and other precious ornaments, and donated villages to support festival celebrations.
