The Nileshwar Muthappan Madappura temple is dedicated to Sree Muthappan. It is located in Nileshwar, Kasaragode district, Kerala. The temple has a rich heritage and tells the philosophical, devotional, and educational importance of Nileshwar.
An elder member of the Koroth family, a famous scholar titled Ezhuthachan, regularly visited the place and offered madhu (toddy) to the god Muthappan. After his death, disturbances occurred, leading to the construction of the temple.
The Koroth family got the right of Koymma (patron) in the temple. The formation of a committee and the efforts of its members made the temple famous, attracting hundreds of visitors daily. Devotees believe that the god cures diseases and brings prosperity.
