The Nilamadhaba Temple has a rich history that dates back to ancient times. It began in a small cave in the Brahmadri hills, where the local Sabara Chief, Biswabasu, worshipped a deity known as Kitung. This deity was later identified as Nilamadhava, represented by a blue sapphire gem. The temple structure resembles the famous Jagannath temple in Puri and is located at the confluence of three rivers, making it a significant spiritual site.
