The Narasimhaswamy Temple in Namakkal, Tamil Nadu, is believed to have been built during the 6th century by the Adiyamans, also known as Satyaputras. The temple is constructed in the Dravidian style of architecture and features rock-cut elements. Historians have compared its architectural features to those found in the Badami Caves.
The temple has inscriptions that mention it as 'Adiyendra Vishnu Gruham' or 'The house of Vishnu of the Adiyaman kings.' These inscriptions are similar to those found in the Ranganatha temple excavated in the same Namakkal hill. The temple is considered an architectural marvel in rock-cut architecture.
