Elamprakkodathu Mana, an ancient Namboodiri family, was the landlord of the area. They had ownership of many temples, including Sree Poornathrayesa Temple and Pishari Kovil Bhagavathi Temple. Maramkulangara Krishna Temple was also built by them.
