The Male Mahadeshwara Temple is an ancient and sacred site located in the Chamarajanagar district of Karnataka. It is believed that Mahadeshwara, an incarnation of Lord Shiva, lived here around 600 years ago. He practiced medicine and taught ahimsa to the people. The temple is surrounded by dense forests and is situated on a hill about 3000 feet above sea level.
