The Lakshmi Narasimha Temple is situated in Dharmapuri town, Jagitial district, Telangana. It is dedicated to Narsimha Swamy, the fourth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, along with Devi Lakshmi. Over the years, the temple has attracted a large number of devotees. Originally built during the Chalukya dynasty, it was later expanded by the Kakatiyas.
The temple houses three distinct forms of Lord Narasimha. The first in a natural seated posture, the second shows his fierce Ugra form, in which he defeated the demon Hiranyakashipu, and the third represents the peaceful Saumya form, resembling Lord Balaji of Tirupati. There is also a small shrine dedicated to Sri Venugopal swamy along with Rukmini and Satyabhama. At the temple entrance, an idol of Yama, the lord of Dharma, stands tall. It is said, devotees first offer prayers to Yama, then to Lord Aanjaney Swamy, the Kshetra palaka and then to Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy.
