After Rama left Ayodhya to live in the forest, he visited Sage Bharadwaja's hermitage. The sage offered a feast, but Rama declined, promising to accept it on his return. After defeating Ravana, Rama returned and accepted the feast after worshipping Lord Ranganatha. This place is called Mudikondan because Rama appeared here with a crown.
