Kulpakji, also known as the Kolanupaka Temple, is a 2,000-year-old Śvetāmbara Jain temple located in the village of Kolanupaka in Aler City, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, Telangana.The temple enshrines three main deities: Lord Rishabhanatha, Lord Neminatha, and Lord Mahavira. The idol of Lord Mahavira, carved from green stone, is historically renowned as "Manikyaswami" and "Jivantasvami." Situated about 80 km from Hyderabad, the temple lies along the Hyderabad-Warangal Highway (NH 163).

Kolanupaka Temple, established in the 9th century, flourished as a major Jain center during the Rashtrakuta period. Kalachuri ruler Shankaragana supported the temple by donating 12 villages. Several Jain relics and over 20 inscriptions have been found at Kulpak, highlighting its importance to the Kanur Gana of the Mula Sangh. According to Śvetāmbara legends, the temple was originally built by Bharat Chakravartin, and the Manikyaswami idol was once worshipped by Mandodari, wife of Ravana. A significant Kannada inscription from 1125 AD by Someshvara III also exists here. Recently, the temple was renovated by over 150 artisans from Rajasthan and Gujarat. In April 2022, sculptures of ‘Maha Jaina Pada’ were discovered near the Someshwara Temple during renovation.

Kulpakji is a significant Jain pilgrimage center in South India. The temple’s interior is crafted from red sandstone and white marble. Lord Rishabha, also known as Adinath Bhagwan, is revered as the first Tirthankara in Jainism. It is believed that the original deity of Lord Adinath, locally known as Manikya Deva, chose Kolanupaka as his abode. The Someshwara Temple is also very famous and was established by the Chalukyas around 800 years ago. The name Kolanupaka is derived from "Kolanu," meaning lake, and "Paka," meaning hut, reflecting the abundance of lakes and huts that once existed in the area. Over time, Kolanupaka has been known by various names such as Bimbavatipuram, Kottiyapaka, Kollihaka, Kollipaka, and Kolanpak. During the construction of a school and library in the village, many ancient statues were discovered. These statues were later moved to the museum at Someshwara Temple by Somalingam Kallem, a government official.
