The Khajrana Ganesh Temple was built in 1735 by Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar of the Holkar dynasty. She retrieved the idol of Lord Ganesha from a well where it was hidden to protect it from Mughal ruler Aurangzeb. The temple is still managed by the Bhatt family, who have been its caretakers for generations.
