Historical records indicate that the temple has been maintained by the Ayira Vaisya (Beri Chettiars) community of Walajapet for the past 300 years. Notably, in 1936, Mr. M. Manickam Chettiar served as the managing trustee. The temple has undergone several Maha Kumbhabhishekams (consecration ceremonies), with the most recent one held on August 30, 2018.
