The town is also home to the Adhistanams of the 66th and 67th pontiffs, Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswati VII and Sri Mahadevendra Saraswati V, respectively. The Matham runs a home for the aged and a home for the physically handicapped, close to the Matham premises.
