The Kadri Manjunatha Temple, located in Mangalore, Karnataka, is believed to have been built during the 10th or 11th century. It was transformed into a complete stone structure in the 14th century. The temple houses a bronze idol of Lokeshwar, identified as Brahma, which is considered one of the oldest in South India. An inscription from 968 CE or 1068 CE mentions King Kundavarma of the Alupa Dynasty installing the Lokeshwara idol in Kadarika Vihara. The temple has a rich history intertwined with both Hindu and Buddhist traditions.
