Jamalapuram Temple History and Significance

Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Temple, located in Jamalapuram near Errupalem in Khammam district, Telangana, is dedicated to Lord Balaji, believed to be a swayambhu (self-manifested) deity. According to legend, Jabali Maharshi performed penance here at Suchi Gutta and was blessed by Lord Venkateshwara.

The temple, existing since ancient times, was later renovated by Vijayanagara emperor Sri Krishnadevaraya. Known as "Telangana Chinna Tirupati," it also houses sub-shrines for Padmavathi Ammavaru, Sri Alamelu Ammavaru, Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesh, Lord Ayyappa, and Lord Hanuman.

The temple was later renovated by Sri Krishnadevaraya, the emperor of the Vijayanagara Empire. It is also referred to as Telangana Chinna Tirupati.
