The Jagannath Temple in Ranchi was built in 1691 by King Ani Nath Shahdeo. It stands on a hillock about 10 km from the main town. The temple was desecrated by Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in the same year. It collapsed in 1990 and was reconstructed by 1992.
