The Jagad Rakshaka Perumal Temple, also known as Thirukoodalur, is located in Vadakurangaduthurai, near Kumbakonam in Tamil Nadu. It is dedicated to Vishnu and constructed in the Dravidian style. The temple is mentioned in the Nalayira Divya Prabandham, a Tamil canon from the 6th–9th centuries CE.
The temple was built by the Medieval Cholas in the late 8th century CE. Later, the Vijayanagara kings and Madurai Nayaks made contributions. A brick wall surrounds the temple, enclosing all its shrines and water bodies.
