The Ernakulam Shiva Temple, also known as Ernakulathappan Temple, is one of the major temples in Kerala. It is located in the heart of Ernakulam, Kochi. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is considered the protector of the city. The temple's history is deeply associated with the history of the city and was one of the seven royal temples of the Kochi Maharajas. The current form of the temple was built under the patronage of Diwan Sri Edakkunni Sankara Warrier in 1846. The temple is built on one acre of land and is one of the major Shiva temples in Kerala.
