The Dwarkadhish Temple, located in Dwarka, Gujarat, is a significant Hindu temple dedicated to Krishna. It is part of the Char Dham pilgrimage circuit. The temple's history dates back to 200 BCE, with archaeological evidence supporting its ancient origins. Over the centuries, it has faced destruction and reconstruction, notably being rebuilt in the 15th-16th century.
In 1473, Mahmud Begada destroyed the original structure. The temple was later rebuilt and enlarged. Adi Shankara, an 8th-century theologian, visited the shrine, and a memorial within the temple commemorates his visit. The temple is also one of the 108 Divya Desams, glorified in sacred texts.
