The temple is primarily dedicated to Lord Krishna and also features a Namghar within its premises. Open year-round, the site offers a unique experience, especially from November to April, with river cruises and walks on the white sands of the Brahmaputra.
The Doul Govinda Temple has a long history. It is believed that Ganga Ram Barooah brought the deity from Sandhyasar near Nalbari. The temple's original structure was built more than 150 years ago and was renovated in 1966, maintaining its historical importance.
