The Dharmasthala Temple is an 800-year-old Hindu religious institution located in the temple town of Dharmasthala in Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka, India. The temple was established by Birmanna Pergade and has been a significant spiritual centre since its inception. In the 16th century, the temple was reconsecrated by the Dvaita saint Vadiraja Tirtha, who renamed the place Dharmasthala.
