The Chakrapani Temple is one of the prominent Vishnu temples in Kumbakonam. In 1620, Govinda Dikshitar, a divan-administrator for the Nayaks, constructed the Ramaswamy Temple and added a commercial corridor between the new temple and the older Chakrapani temple.
