The Avanangattilkalari Sree Vishnumaya Temple is believed to have been a small shrine in the past. Kellunni Panicker installed the murthi of Vishnumaya near one of his kalari. The pujas are conducted under direct instructions from the god himself. A mango tree and a small rock shrine called 'Valliyachan kottil' are believed to be the main sources of the deity's powers. The temple allows all religious members to attend, and it is related to the Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple. The temple was reconstructed during the time of Sakthan Thampuran, who provided financial support. Currently, the temple is administered by a trust and does not take aid from the Thriprayar Temple. The first Shaktheya Pooja was performed by Panicker families and is still followed.
