The Adikesava Perumal Temple is a Hindu temple located in Thiruvattar, Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu, India. It is one of the 108 Divya Desams, the holy sites of Hindu Vaishnavism. The temple is surrounded on three sides by rivers: Kothai, Pahrali, and Thamirabarani. It was the Rajya Temple and Bharadevatha shrine of Erstwhile Travancore. After state reorganisation, the temple was handed over to Tamil Nadu H&RCE Dept. The presiding deity, Vishnu, in the form of Ananthapadmabhan/Adikeshavaperumal, is believed to be older than Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram.
Thiruvattar is well-connected by road to major towns in Tamil Nadu. State Transport Buses and private taxis operate regularly from cities like Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, and Trivandrum.
Nearest railway stations: Nagercoil Junction (15 km) and Kanyakumari Railway Station (30 km). From these stations, buses or taxis are available to Thiruvattar.
Nearest airport: Trivandrum International Airport (approximately 50 km away). From the airport, you can take a taxi or bus to Nagercoil and then proceed to Thiruvattar.
The best time to visit is between October and March when the weather is pleasant. Avoid the monsoon season (June to September) due to heavy rainfall that may disrupt travel plans.
