The Aadi Himani Chamunda Temple is located near the ruins of Raja Chandar Bhan Chand Katoch's palace. The temple is believed to be as old as the palace itself. It was in a state of disrepair until 1992 when Mr. P. D. Saini, a retired officer, began its restoration. His dedication, along with the help of devotees, brought the temple back to life. The temple is now under government administration but continues to benefit from Mr. Saini's efforts.
Situated at 3185 meters, the temple is a popular trekking destination due to its natural beauty. It is located northeast of the Shri Chamunda Devi Mandir in Kangra District. The trek to the temple is about 13 kilometers from the Dharamshala Palampur state highway and takes around 6-7 hours. The temple was destroyed by fire in 2014 and is currently being reconstructed with the help of devotees and the Temple Trust.
