In Maharashtra's Nanded, a tragic incident unfolded involving a 20-year-old man named Saksham Tate. He was brutally assaulted, shot, and his head was crushed with a stone. The shocking event took place amid family disapproval of his relationship with Aanchal due to caste differences.

Aanchal and Tate had been together for three years. They met through her brothers and grew close with regular visits to his home. Despite facing opposition from her family, Aanchal remained committed to Tate, even when threatened. When her family discovered their intent to marry, they reacted violently.

A Heartbreaking Farewell

During Tate's funeral, Aanchal performed a symbolic marriage ceremony. She applied turmeric on his body and vermillion on her forehead, declaring herself his widow. Aanchal then vowed to stay in Tate's home as his wife, challenging her family who had vehemently opposed their relationship.

"Our love won, even in Saksham's death, and my father and brothers lost," Aanchal stated, demanding the death penalty for those responsible for Tate's murder. Her resolve was to honour their love, asserting that it remained strong despite his passing.

The police have intervened, registering a case against six individuals. These individuals, including Aanchal's family members, have been arrested under various legal sections. The investigation continues as authorities seek justice for the brutal crime.
