After successful UPSC 2015, Bhyrappa to again appear for exam in 2016 for better ranking

Bengaluru, May 12: Conceptual clarity is pivotal in the pursuit of cracking UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) test. Bhyrappa who secured 1037 rank in UPSC 2015 is now keen on writing the same for 2016 to step up the rank as it fell short to assume his dream post of Deputy Commissioner (DC).

Bhyrappa hailing from a rural belt of Maluru of Kolar district has a glittering profile. While he hit the headlines in newspapers and television channels functioning in Karnataka for writing UPSC in his mother tongue, Kannada, Bhyrappa is 'the first and the only candidate' to take Chemistry in KPSC (Karnataka Public Service Commission) examination in Kannada.

This rural lad completed KPSC in 2012 itself and secured Tashildar posting. However the posting is in abeyance as the matter is pending in the court after KPSC dimmed in scam. But for Bhyrappa dream chase still continues even after completing UPSC. Albiet preferred IRS (Indian Revenue Service) posting is a thing of reality in 2015 cadre, holding the DC stint is a finish line which he has not yet reached.

"I am taking UPSC 2016 next month to increase my ranking to fulfill my dream," said Bhyrappa in his opening conversation with OneIndia. For Bhyrappa writing UPSC in English is a sort of impracticable thought. "I pursued my Degree in Kannada language and studying English now to take examination is something impractical. But why not display excel in your mother tongue," asks Bhyrappa.

Discrimination of candidates writing in regional languages is perhaps a bad tag UPSC possess. This discrimination, in all possibility de-motivate participants leading to loose focus. Beside self- motivation, motivation from outsiders plays an important role. Being a DC and guiding students makes a wide difference. Bhyrappa cites this a key reason to become DC.

Swayed by his KAS memory while questioning on Kannada as a language for exam writing, he recalled- "I am the first one to pen down Chemistry answers in Kannada in the KPSC. I neither had tutors and nor attended coaching classes. I was allocating large part of hours in a day to translate theoretical chemistry to Kannada." He added this helped to many extents to gain confidence to write in mother tongue.

Scheduling large hours only for reading does not help, but thinking a lot on the subject facilitates to find the right key to open the doors of public service. "Pursuance and conceptual clarity is pivotal in UPSC and KPSC," Bhyrappa observed.

"12 of my friends shortlisted for UPSC interview who took exam in Kannada. It is a smiling news," Bhyrappa proudly said. After completing KPSC, he also teaches in JICE coaching institution, Vijayanagara and guess what 159 students he taught have been selected for the final round of the UPSC.

In submissive tone, Bhyrappa in the final stretch of telephonic conversation thanked his motivator G Keshav Murthy, Circle Inspector, Sampige Halli and his elder brother for all the much needed encouragement. Down to earth Bhyrappa stands out among UPSC rank holders in the country.
