Hyderabad Power Cut Today, February 3, 2026: Maintenance Work To Affect Power Supply In Several Areas

Residents across several parts of Hyderabad will face scheduled power outages today as the electricity department undertakes annual maintenance and repair work on power lines and substations. The temporary disruption is part of preventive measures taken ahead of the summer season to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the coming months.

According to an official statement issued by Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited, consumers have been advised to plan their daily activities accordingly to minimise inconvenience.

Preventive Maintenance to Avoid Future Disruptions

Electricity authorities usually carry out line maintenance either before the onset of summer or ahead of the monsoon season. The works include replacement of old power lines, rectification of loose contacts near transformers, and removal of tree branches obstructing overhead cables.

Officials said these preventive maintenance activities are aimed at reducing the risk of sudden power failures in the future. As part of this exercise, power supply will be temporarily suspended in select areas of the city today.

Areas Affected and Power Cut Timings

Power outages will be implemented in two phases across major localities such as Dilkusha, Banjara Hills, and Ameerpet.

First phase from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm:

Electricity supply will be disrupted in areas under the Dilkusha feeder, including Lokpath Road, Villa Marie College surroundings, Renuka Enclave, and Gulmohar Avenue. In Banjara Hills, residents of Hanuman Temple Street, RBI Quarters, KK Towers, and Engineers Colony will face power cuts for three hours.

Second phase from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm:

During the afternoon hours, power supply will be stopped in and around Kshatriya Hotel area, ACP Main Gate, and Pratul Honda showroom. In Somajiguda, areas such as Ganesh Temple, Standard Chartered Bank Line, Yusufguda Basti, and Srikrishna Nagar will remain without electricity until 5:00 pm.

Impact on Commercial Hubs and Offices

Commercial centres like Ameerpet and Abids are also expected to be affected during peak afternoon hours, which may cause inconvenience to small traders and businesses. Repair work will be carried out on feeders supplying electricity to Abids Main Road, Shantaram Nursing Home, and Collectorate offices.

In Somajiguda, areas under the Satya Computer feeder, which caters to several IT establishments, will also experience temporary power disruption.

Advisory Issued for Consumers

To reduce inconvenience during the power outage, electricity officials have issued the following guidelines:

• Water storage: Residents are advised to fill overhead water tanks before 10:00 am.
• Electronic safety: Expensive electronic appliances should be unplugged before the power cut to avoid damage due to voltage fluctuations.
• Backup arrangements: Employees working from home and students should ensure laptops and UPS backups are fully charged.
• Emergency support: In case of emergencies or if power is not restored after the scheduled time, consumers can contact the 1912 helpline number.

Officials added that if maintenance work is completed earlier than expected, power supply will be restored ahead of schedule. Consumers have been requested to cooperate during this short-term disruption.
