Is the Viral Video of an ‘IAF Pilot Crying’ Over Air Crashes Real? Here's The Truth

A video circulating widely on social media appears to show a man dressed as an Indian Air Force pilot becoming emotional while speaking about aircraft crashes and accusing the government of failing to act. The clip has spread rapidly across multiple platforms, drawing strong reactions and prompting many viewers to question whether the individual in the video is an actual officer from the Air Force.

In the footage, the uniformed person appears distressed and claims that several air crash incidents have occurred while authorities have not taken adequate steps to address the issue. The emotional tone of the video has led many users to share it as a supposed statement from within the defence forces.

However, questions about the authenticity of the video began to emerge as it gained traction online. Some users raised doubts about whether the individual was truly associated with the Indian Air Force.

Soon after the clip began trending, the PIB Fact Check issued a clarification warning the public about the video.

In its advisory, the fact-checking unit cautioned that Pakistani propaganda-linked social media accounts are circulating AI-generated videos impersonating an Indian Air Force officer and making false claims about the Air Force.

PIB Fact Check clarified that the viral clip is not genuine and has been created using artificial intelligence technology. The agency stressed that the person shown in the video is not an officer of the Indian Air Force, and that no such statement has been issued by the force.

The agency also urged the public to remain cautious while consuming content online, especially videos that appear sensational or controversial.

Officials warned that AI-generated deepfake videos are increasingly being used to spread misinformation and damage the reputation of institutions. Citizens have been advised to verify information through official channels and avoid forwarding unverified content on social media.
