Two Dead After Massive Fire Breaks Out in Noida's Mamura Village, Around 50 Families Rescued


A massive fire broke out in residential apartments in Mamura village of Noida on Wednesday. The fire is so big that created panic and disturbance between the residents. Two people lost their lives in the fire and around 50 families trapped. According to the initial information, the fire broke out after an electric bike caught fire due to electric spark.

The Firefighters, police and rescue team have already reached to the spot and the rescue operation is going on. According to the police, around 50 families have been struck in this incident and many people may feared trapped inside the building. Firefighters evacuated multiple residents from the building and later controlled the fire.

Fire Started While Electric Vehicle Was Charging

According to initial investigation, the fire took place when an electric vehicle was on charging in the parking area. Soon the vehicle spot a electric spark which turned into massive fire after connecting to nearby standing petrol vehicles.

Around 50 Families Evacuated

The Join commissioner of Police, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Rajeev Narain said, the building is a G+4 and it contains around 50 families. Around 7 fire vehicles, hydraulic platforms and rescue vehicles reached to spot to control the fire and evacuate the residents.

"The Fire Services responded immediately and reached the spot in the shortest possible time. Hydraulic platforms, rescue vehicles, and seven fire tenders were deployed to carry out the firefighting and rescue operations. The building where the fire broke out is a G+4 structure housing around 50 families. All the residents were safely evacuated," he said.

Two Die Due to Smoke Inhalation

The Police said that at least two people died after inhaling smoke and they were brought to district hospital where they were declared dead. Joint commissioner Rajeev Narain said, that the building has a parking area in ground floor where the fire started and later went to upper floors. There's when the residents got affected.

Building Owner and Leaseholder Detained

Police have registered FIR against in the matter at Phase 3 police station and taken building owner and leaseholder into custody. The investigation is still going on and Police is saying that they are still finding the root cause of the fire.
