The long waited period of checking IRCTC website is working or not, is going to end soon. Now with the IRCTC's new initiative booking railways tickets online will become much easier. IRCTC has launched its beta version of redesigned new ticket booking website. This update has taken to make users experience smoother, simpler, and less interruptions while booking the tickets. However, the new website is just available for trial.
Interestingly, the redesigned and new website has been developed after the Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnav met with Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) students, who gave their ideas during the interaction. According to PIB, "The students were made a part of the design process wherein they gave suggestions on improving the look and feel of the website. Based on the feedback received, the new website is ready for trial." The first IRCTC website was launched in 2002, now it works on 14.5 lakh train tickets every day. The new website has been updated with multiple user-friendly features, which removes useless captchas, pop-ups, flashing graphics, and other obstacles that majorly slow downs the ticket booking process. This website will give users a feature a new facility to check seat available or not in a single screen and not going multiple pages. Even the booking process has become easier after many steps have been reduced. In one more feature the frequent travellers can save their details for future bookings easily. The users can go through the beta version of the IRCTC website, by directly visiting IRCT website and select beta version. While the other option is by visiting IRCTC e-ticket website directly. IRCTC says that beta version feedback is already being received. They also said that the feedbacks with help the website to improve it properly before launching it finally. Railways is also trying to connect it with new Passenger Reservation Engine which helps train ticket booking easy across IRCTC and other railways ticket booking platforms.
