The new Consumer Superbrands for the year 2006-07 were announced by Superbrands India.

The final selection was made by Superbrands India's Council members, who finally selected 206 brands across an equal number of categories. For the final invitation stage, 91 brands had participated.

India's premier market research agency A C Nielson was entrusted with evaluating and putting together the results of the web-based selection process.
