Justice R P Sethi dead at 70

Jammu, Jan 17 (UNI) Former Supreme Court Judge Justice Ram Prakash Sethi passed away in Chandigarh this evening.

He was 70.

Justice Sethi, who was also the former chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Accountability Commission, complained of uneasiness yesterday and was admitted to Government Medical College Hospital in Jammu. Later, he was shifted to PGI Chandigarh.

Justice Sethi was appointed the chairman of State Accountability Commission in August 2005 by the then Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed but a year later he resigned.

He was born on July 1937 and started practising law in 1961.

He is survived by his wife and two advocate sons.
