Aizawl, Sep 17: The famous French comic 'Lieutenant Blueberry Fort Navojo' can now be read in Mizo, thanks to a young journalist who translated it.

Interestingly, for 20-year old Mahlua, the translator, "French is Greek to him". He said he does not know how to read and write French.

He said he first had this French comic translated into English with the help of a French man and then he had it done into Mizo language.

''Once the initial translation was over, the English to local part was relatively easy'', he said.

''Making sense out of this confusion was really tough'', he said adding ''the whole process took me just two months to complete''.

The original comic, which is very popular in Europe, was created by Frenchmen Jean Michel Charlier and Jean Giraud.

The Mizo version has hit the stands and is doing a pretty good business, he added.

The translator is planning to churn out other comics of Lieutenant Blueberry series. Next in his line is 'Thunder in the West'.
