TTD introduces multipurpose cards for employees

Tirupati, Aug 1 (UNI) Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) has introduced a multipurpose biometric identification system card for its employees here.

Mr Sarma, who formally inaugurated the system last evening at the TTD administrative building said the smart card with biometric identity of the employees would enable the TTD to control entry into various sections and the card would go a long way in facilitating employees welfare schemes.

TTD Executive Officer A P V N Sarma said on the wake of the recent developments at Tirumala, following the allegation made by the fact finding committee, TTD instructed the employees to follow traditional dress code and put namam or kunkum on forehead and the new multipurpose card would help to identify its employees.

Basically employees card is used to monitor the entry and exit of the employees and also to keep tabs on the movement of outsiders into office. But the multipurpose cards would also have all the details of the employees, the card with 1 kilo bite inbuilt memory, also store details of employees as well as their family members along with their photographs.

Initially only two card readers are installed at the entrance of the building and the existing card would be valid for five years, he added. Some more systems would be installed in a phased manner at other TTD offices shortly, TTD officials said.

The system was installed free of cost by Hindustan Computer Ltd (HCL). About 10,500 cards would be issued to the employees.
