MCX index closes up 9.94 pts at 2,390.65

Mumbai, May 6 (UNI) Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded a turnover of Rs 857.53 crore at the close of trading hour today.

The index closed at Rs 2,390.65 up by 9.94 points (0.42 per cent). The total trades registered were 19,888.

The MCX metal index closed at 2,844.29 up 5.09 points (0.18 per cent), while its agri index was also a gainer and closed at 1,656.09 up 19.01 points (1.15 per cent). MCX energy index was at 2,671.57 up 5.72 points (0.21 per cent).

The combined MCX bullion registered a turnover of Rs 388.60 crore, including various MCX gold Rs 281.78 crore and MCX silver Rs 106.82 crore. The total trades recorded for the MCX bullion were 4,823. The open interest for gold was 9,070 kg, while the outstanding position for silver was 3,00,235 kg.

In the metals segment, MCX copper registered a turnover of Rs 39.16 crore with 823 trades, while in the energy segment, crude oil contracts showed a turnover of Rs 15.52 crore with open interest of 8,70,200 BBL.

Turnover of some of the major pulses traded on the MCX were as follows - urad registered a turnover of Rs 40.43 crore with 1,120 trades, chana registered a turnover of Rs 28.80 crore with 718 trades, tur recorded a turnover of Rs 12.76 crore with 237 trades, while masur registered a turnover of Rs 15.27 crore with 345 trades.

Meanwhile, potato recorded a turnover of Rs 152.50 crore with 6,906 trades, while mentha oil registered a turnover of Rs 19.52 crore with 1,081 trades.

MCX Gold June 06 closed at Rs 10,045 up by Rs 25 (0.25 per cent), while Aug closed at Rs 10,181 up by Rs 21 (0.21 per cent), Oct closed at Rs 10,320 up by Rs 61 (0.59 per cent).

MCX Silver July 06 closed at Rs 21,384 up by Rs 29 (0.15 per cent), Sep closed at Rs 21,937 down by Rs 15 (-0.07 per cent).
