Training for people associated with tourism in J

Srinagar, May 4 (UNI) A training programme for those related to the tourism industry in Jammu and Kashmir will soon be conducted by the Institute of Hotel Management here, an official spokesman said today.

The programme would be conducted by the Union Tourism Ministry under its ''Capacity Building for Service Providers'' scheme for those related to the tourism and hospitality sectors.

The programme will be conducted at Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.

The training is open to kitchen staff, dhabawalas, receptionists, front office staff, food and beverages staff, tourist taxi poperators, auto rickshaw operators, tourist guides, motor boat operators, shikarawalas, ponywallas, sledge riders, kiosks, tourist police, airport ancillary staff besides others.

A stipend of Rs 100 per session will be paid to the trainees, the spokesman added.

The training programme would be conducted during the year and the sessions will be organised by the Institute in a systematic manner depending upon the availability of the participants in a particular location, he said.
