'Will HRD Ministry be renamed as Hindu Rashtra Development Ministry?'
New Delhi, April 28: Activist-lawyer and leader of Swaraj Abhiyan, Prashant Bhushan on Thursday ridiculed HRD Minister Smriti Irani over asking IITs to teach Sanskrit to students and asked whether her ministry will now be renamed as "Hindu Rashtra Development Ministry".
"Irani wants IITs to teach Sanskrit texts! Seriously? Will HRD be renamed, Hindu Rashtra Development Ministry?," Bhushan wrote in a tweet.

The country's IITs have been asked to teach Sanskrit language for facilitating study of science and technology as is reflected in its literature, the Lok Sabha was told on Monday (April 25).
A panel, chaired by former chief election commissioner N Gopalaswami, had suggested in its report that the IITs may facilitate the study of science and technology as reflected in Sanskrit literature along with inter-disciplinary study of Sanskrit and other modern subjects, Irani said in a written reply.
