Mumbai: School bus attendant arrested for raping 3-year-old girl

Mumbai, Aug 17: In yet another shocking incident of sexual abuse cases of minors, a school bus attendant was arrested on Saturday, Aug 15 in Mumbai.

The incident took place on Friday, Aug 14, when, the 3-year-old girl, studying in Nursery, was leaving for home after attending the school in Malad (East).

When the child got into her school jeep, the school bus attendant took her outside, on the pretext of taking her to urinate, DNA reported.

Instead, the man took her to an isolated spot, where he allegedly sexually assaulted her.

When child reached home, she started crying, following which her parents took her to a private hospital.

When the private hospital staff found the case to be murky, they referred them to go to government hospital.

The doctors confirmed that the child was sexually assaulted.

Her parents registered a case at Kurar police station on Saturday.

When child narrated the incident to her parents and police, the accused was arested.

He has been booked under IPC section 376 (rape) and relevant sections of Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences (POCSO).
