Kolkata, Oct 3: Kolkata, the City of Joy, averted a major terror attack ahead of the Durga Puja 2013. 24 crude bombs have been recovered from the city on Thursday, Oct 3.

Reports about crude bomb created panic among the citizens during the festive season. West Bengal is awaiting the arrival of goddess Durga. The 10-day festival will kick off from next week.

A bomb blast lately rocked the busy Chandni Chawk area of the city. A crude bomb, which exploded on Aug 30, 2013,reportedly was stored inside a cigarette shop. The Lal Bazar bomb squad immediately had rushed to the spot and carried out checks in the area.

They also had found two more unexploded crude bombs in the area. Local goons and criminals were suspected to have stored those bombs inside the shop. However, no casualties were reported.
