Both Orlando and Williams escaped with minor injuries. Onlookers said that Orlando was barking frantically in a bid to save William from falling off the platform.

William, who lost consciousness, landed on the tracks. Following this, Orlando jumped onto the tracks to save his owner by licking his face so that he could move away from the tracks and not be hit by an approaching train.
However the witnesses called the attention of the motorman who was on-board the train and he slowed down as it approached them.
William was then taken to a hospital where he is currently being treated for the injuries. However he said that he could not pay for a non-working dog. Orlando was provided to William by an organisation named Guiding Eyes.
Organisations like Guiding Eyes provide working dogs for free but cannot pay for retired dogs.
But as soon as William's story got out, help poured in from many people, who donated money and offered other assistance so that William could keep Orlando with him.
Williams is yet to take a decision on whether he wants to keep Orlando or not.
