UP Shocker: Man tonsured, paraded on streets for 'converting' Hindus
Lucknow, Jan 30: A man was tortured by a mob comprising some Bajrang Dal activists allegedly for converting three Hindu men to Christianity.
According to a reports, after came to know that this man was involved in 'forceful conversion', activists tonsured his head. Not only that, the Hindu activists also garlanded him with shoes and paraded him on the streets for this 'perceived crime'.
The incident took place in Orai district in Uttar Pradesh on Friday. Justifying their act, activists alleged that Hindu men were forced to eat beef by the man.
"On Friday afternoon, a mob of nearly 200 men, allegedly comprising Bajrang Dal activists, reached the house of Awdhesh at Randar in Jalaun district, brought him out forcibly, and took him to Orai (district headquarters),"
A TOI report quoting a police source said, "On Friday afternoon, a mob of nearly 200 men, allegedly comprising Bajrang Dal activists, reached the house of Awdhesh at Randar in Jalaun district, brought him out forcibly, and took him to Orai (district headquarters).
"He was paraded through the town after his hair, eyebrows and moustache were shaved off, and garlanded with shoes".
Meanwhile, Police have registered three FIRs in the case. No arrests have been made so far.
