Murdered Indian engineer Srinivas Kuchibhotla's body, which was flown from Kansas, arrived in Hyderabad late on Monday night.
The mortal remains of Srinivas that reached Hyderabad airport at around 10.20 pm was taken to his residence in the outskirts of the city where grieving family members had gathered.
The suspected racial attack victim's body was flown down from Kansas with the help of the Indian embassy and ministry of external affairs.
Sunayana Dumala, wife of the deceased engineer, was driven to their residence in the city where arrangements for last rites were made by family members. The family that was all set to celebrate Srinivas' 33rd birthday had to make arrangements for the engineer's funeral after he was shot dead in an alleged instance of racial attack.
Srinivas Kuchibhotla died when a US navy veteran, identified as Adam Purinton, opened fire on him and his friend Alok Madasani after yelling racial abuses and telling them 'get out of my country'.
The incident took place on Wednesday night at Austins Bar and Grill in Olathe. A 24-year-old American, Ian Grillot, who jumped in to save the two Indians, was also wounded.
